Stadio Olimpico is the largest stadium in Rome, Italy with a capacity of 70,634. Located in Foro Italico sports complex, north-west of the city, the stadium is owned by Italian National Olympic Committee and home to Roma and Lazio.
Opened in 1932 and rebuilt in 1990, the venue has hosted an abundance of events including the 1990 FIFA World Cup Final between West Germany and Argentina and the 1996 (Juventus vs Ajax) and 2009 (Barcelona vs Manchester United) Champions League finals. In addition to these events, the venue has been selected as one of the 12 stadiums to host the Euro 2020 (postponed to 2021) including the opening match and a quarter final.
Other than football, Stadio Olimpico is used for rugby and athletics events. Most significantly, hosting track and field and also the opening and closing ceremonies for the 1960 Olympic Games. Other than sport, the stadium has held concerts for Miles Davis, The Cure and Madonna to name a few.
