Opened in November 2019 as a replacement of Ferenc Puskás Stadium, the stadium was named in honour of former national football team captain Ferenc Puskás (as was the previous stadium). The new stadium is yet to hold significant events other than the opening match between Hungary and Uruguay where the record attendance of 65,114 was set, however, it will host three group stage matches and a round of 16 match during Euro 2020.
