Named after former General Secretary of the South African Communist Party, Moses Mabhida, this stadium is located in Durban. It is the home of South African Premier Soccer League club, Bidvest Wits and has played host to a range of events such as the 2010 FIFA World Cup, African Cup of Nations, cricket, football, rugby union events and various concerts.
The symmetrical arch is approximately 105-metre (344 ft.) and resembles the famous Wembley Stadium arch. Inspired by the South African Flag, it also represents the coming together of the once divided nation. The stadium features views of the city and ocean from a viewing platform at the top of the arch. In addition, there is a 550-step adventure walk on the south side of the arch and as of 2010, the stadium also features the world’s largest swing. The swing allows clients to jump from one side of the arch and fall toward the pitch before being swung in a 220-metre (720 ft) arc over the pitch.
