Moorleigh Community Village is a vibrant facility where community groups gather on a regular basis. It also features a formal sportsground, a recreational space and a fantastic multipurpose facility.
The current community village site was originally Moorleigh High School. The Victorian Government closed the school around 1992 and sold the land to the former Moorabbin City Council. The council then built the Moorleigh sportsground in 1995 and its pavilion in 1996.
Hidden behind the buildings of Moorleigh Community Village, sits ample opportunity for sport and recreation:
Opened in 2019, Moorleigh Community Village features a one-of-a-kind multipurpose facility. This facility provides cricket nets during summer and a multipurpose space in winter, for a diverse array of recreation activities.
For more information regarding the multipurpose facility, including the booking process, visit the Multi-purpose Courts and Park Facilities page.
The ground is home to the Moorabbin Cricket Club and Southern Metro Junior Football Club.
