Sports Ground Assessments

Each week Council’s Sportsground Maintenance Team undertake an assessment  of the condition of each turf based sportsground managed by Council.

Sports Ground Infrastructure Policy

In 2013, Council adopted a new Sportsground Infrastructure Policy which now clearly defines the responsibilities of Council and Sport clubs for provision and maintenance of sporting related infrastructure. All strategies, plans and policies can be viewed here.

What is Sportsground infrastructure?
Sportsground Infrastructure refers to the hard-built infrastructure that supports the training and competition needs of seasonally allocated sports clubs e.g. nets, lights, fences, pitches, scoreboards, coaches boxes etc. This policy relates to infrastructure that is provided on turf based Council Sportsgrounds within open space reserves. The provision of infrastructure at other sport and recreation facilities e.g. tennis courts, is determined by the lease or license agreements between tenants and Council. Please view all Strategies, Plans and Policies here.

Information for Current Sporting Tenants

Building Maintenance Issues

Tenant sports clubs can report building maintenance items via Council’s Customer Service Action Line (1300 653 356). Jobs are logged via this system and allocated to the appropriate department for inspection and if they are Council’s responsibility to attend to, for subsequent action. During your call to the Customer Service Action Line you will be issued with a job number which will allow you to follow up on status of the job if required.
