Hásteinsvöllur is a multi-use stadium in Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland. It is located in the fishing town of Vestmannaeyjar on the island of Heimaey. It is used mostly for football matches, and is the home ground of Íþróttabandalag Vestmannaeyja (ÍBV). The stadium’s capacity is 2,834.
Although the stadium feels a world away from the glamour of the Premier League or La Liga, the sense of seclusion provides a unique charm with with the whole community pulling together to sell refreshments and act as stewards. On top of this, spectators are treated to view of surrounding jagged cliffs and a volcano which almost make the soccer pitch look out of place, though very few complaints.
