Formerly known as Estadi Olímpic de Montjuïc and Estadio de Montjuic, Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys is located in Barcelona, Spain and situated on a large hill to the southwest of the city which overlooks the harbor.
Opened in 1929, the city of Barcelona had hoped to host the 1936 Summer Olympics. These were eventually awarded to Berlin. The stadium underwent major renovations in 1989 in order to be the main stadium for the 1992 Summer Olympics. The venue is now home to local amateur side, FC Penger.
With a capacity of 60,713, it is the fifth largest stadium in Spain. Other than football and the 1992 Olympics, the stadium has hosted Boxing, Athletics, Rugby and American Football events including home games for the Barcelona Dragons until 2002.
