Duncan Mackinnon Reserve

Duncan Mackinnon Reserve is one of Glen Eira’s most elite sporting precincts.

The main features of Duncan Mackinnon Reserve are:

• the 10 competition netball courts
• the IAAF compliant athletics track
• the state-of-the-art pavilion available for community hire

These facilities are enclosed by a perimeter path featuring outdoor fitness stations and leading to the playground and sportsgrounds hosting cricket, soccer or football.

Playground

The playground at Duncan Mackinnon Reserve serves play opportunities for the local community. The play space offers:

• slides
• swings
• spinners
• monkey bars
• outdoor fitness circuit
• shade from the surrounding trees

Picnic shelters and BBQs

There are picnic shelters located beside the playground for shelter or somewhere to eat.

BBQs are available for use at Duncan Mackinnon Reserve, located within the athletics track facility. These BBQs are accessible to the community when there are no events occurring at the athletics track. Access can be obtained via the turnstile leading from the car park beside the pavilion.

Active recreation

Athletics facility

The athletics track is the only one within Glen Eira and one of the highest quality in Melbourne. The facility is open for community use when it is not booked. Entry and exit can be achieved via the turnstile leading from the car park beside the pavilion.

Netball courts

The netball courts at Duncan Mackinnon Reserve are used all year round training and competition. Want to play netball? Get yourself involved in social competition.

Walking track

There’s also a pleasant 1,200 metre walking track around the outside of the reserve.

Fitness stations

This includes fitness stations featuring:

• monkey bars
• balance beams
• dip bars.

Dog leash information

• The sportsgrounds at Duncan Mackinnon Reserve are designated dog off-leash areas.
• The netball courts, athletics track, car park and playground area are dog on-leash areas.

Venue hire

The Duncan Mackinnon Reserve pavilion provides facilities for sporting clubs as well as community and meeting rooms (for hire). The pavilion has two magnificent 450 seat grandstands for watching athletics and 100 seats for watching netball. It is fully accessible and includes:

• a community room
• change rooms
• public toilets
• athletics and netball control rooms.

The community room and meeting room at Duncan Mackinnon Reserve Pavilion, accessed via the car park off North Road, is available for hire.
