Located in downtown Denver, Colorado, two blocks from Union Station, Coors Field is home to the Colorado Rockies of the Major League Baseball (MLB). As the name suggests, the naming rights of the stadium were purchased by Coors Brewing Company.
After playing their first two seasons at Mile High Stadium, Coors Field finally opened in 1995, providing the Rockies with a permanent home.
With a capacity of 50,144, the stadium features over 60 luxury suites and over 4,500 club seats. It has earned a reputation as a hitter’s park with a high volume of home runs being hit due to climate reasons and the stadium’s high altitude of 1,580 metres (5,200 feet) above sea level.
Coors Field has hosted the 1998 MLB All-Star Game, an outdoor hockey game from the 2016 NHL Stadium Series between the Colorado Avalanches and the Detroit Red Wings, and numerous concerts including Def Leopard and Billy Joel.
