Located in Norwich, Norfolk, England, on the east of the city, near Norwich railway station and the River Wensum, Carrow Road Stadium is home to Norwich City Football Club.
Norwich originally played at the Newmarket Road from 1902 to 1908, before moving to The Nest where they called home until 1935 when it was deemed inadequate for the crowd sizes they were attracting. In August of the same year, Carrow Road (named after the road it is situated on) was opened.
The stadium has undergone several renovations and upgrades throughout its history, most notably following a fire that destroyed the City Stand in 1984. Once a stadium accommodating standing supporters, the ground has been an all-seater since 1992 and currently has a capacity of 27,244.
The stadium’s record attendance was set when Norwich faced Newcastle United in 2016, attracting 27,137. When terraces allowed fans to stand, Carrow Road once saw a crowd of 43,984 when hosting Leicester City in 1963.
Other than football matches, the stadium has held concerts including Elton John and George Michael. The stadium also features catering and function facilities and a Holiday Inn hotel offering some rooms with views of the pitch.
