The Beijing National Aquatics Center, also officially known as the National Aquatics Center, and also known as the Water Cube is (as the name suggests) an aquatics in Beijing, China.
The facility was originally constructed to host the aquatics competitions at the 2008 Summer Olympics and Paralympics. During the Olympics, it hosted diving, swimming, and synchronised swimming events — 25 world records were broken in swimming, although these were broken with the use of controversial bodyskin swimwear that were widely-adopted by competitors during the Beijing Olympics.
In 2010, a renovation of the facility was completed, which included the addition of a 12,000 m2 (130,000 sq ft) public water park. The Water Cube was further renovated in 2019 in order to hold curling events during the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.
