Bailey Reserve is one of the largest, most diverse and popular sports and recreation reserves in the city of Glen Eira. Home to Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre (GESAC) as well as Glen Eira’s only skate park, it also features a playground, a picnic shelter, BBQ facilities and public toilets.

Playground

In southern end of the reserve along Gardiners Road, the aquatic themed playground includes:

  • large climbable boat with a blue and green ‘sea’ under surfacing
  • activity boards
  • spin pole
  • spring rider
  • swing
  • climber
  • megaphone.

Please note: the public toilet facilities at Bailey Reserve are located in the sporting pavilion in the middle of the reserve, approx. 300m from the playground.

Picnic shelter and BBQs

There is a picnic shelter with two tables located beside the playground that is available to book for a variety of gatherings or celebrations. There are BBQ facilities nearby to the picnic shelter to add another element to your picnic.

Skate park

The Bailey Reserve Skate Park is open during daylight hours, with facility lighting until 10pm each night.

It includes:

  • open spine bowl
  • raised long split level street section hubbas, rails and ledges

Active recreation and sports

Bailey Reserve provides many opportunities for recreation including:

  • three sports grounds (cricket, soccer and softball)
  • cricket nets
  • golf birdie cage
  • outdoor fitness equipment

Bailey Reserve is home to East Bentleigh Soccer Club and Glen Eira Moorabbin Softball Association.

Workout at GESAC (located onsite), or in the fresh air at Bailey Reserve, featuring outdoor fitness equipment. The stationary fitness equipment features chin up bars, sit up benches, step up blocks, etc. and is situated close to the playground.

Dog leash information

  • The two sports grounds at the southern end of Bailey Reserve are off-leash (the playground side).
  • The northern end is on-leash (close to GESAC).

Please note: dogs should be on-leash within 20m of both the playground and skate park facilities.
