The Arnos Vale Stadium is a cricket ground in Arnos Vale, near Kingstown, St. Vincent. The stadium holds 18,000 people and is mostly used for football and cricket matches. The multi-use ground is part of Arnos Vale Sports Complex and is home to the West Indies Cricket team along with Saint Vincent and the Grenadines national football team and Avenues United FC. Although the stadium doesn’t host many test matches, it has held its fair share of One-Day Internationals. The stadium’s first ever international game was an ODI held here on February 4, 1981 between West Indies and England. The match was a close encounter with the home side claiming victory by two runs. The West Indies have enjoyed a strong record here, winning approximately 75% of their games, however, it was the scene of one of their most embarrassing defeats in 2009, going down to Bangladesh by 95 runs in a test match. Despite a hurricane nearly saving the home side, Bangladesh were able to claim the win, thanks to a drainage system, installed for the 2007 World Cup.
