Perhaps one of the most isolated stadiums in Brazil, built on the former site of the Vivaldão stadium, Arena Amazônia was opened in 2014 specifically to host matches for the FIFA World Cup which it hosted four games for. The stadium includes restaurants, luxury suites and underground parking spaces. However, it has been widely criticised for being unnecessary beyond the 2014 world cup with the low crowd numbers attending local football matches for the home team Nacional ( currently 4th division as of 2020).
